Reece Young is a nu-metal artist drawing inspiration from a range of artists, from Bring Me The Horizon to Skrillex. I was asked to design and illustrate an album cover for an upcoming single.
The initial round of edits saw me adding some design and illustrative elements, as well as partially replacing a part of one of the subject’s images.
After some thought, the artist wanted the artwork to only feature himself to avoid any confusion with the featured artist. The hand-drawn text was also refined at this stage.
The final product saw a simplified image with only the song name.
